ADVENTURE TRIPS
ADVENTURE TRIPS
Calling all first years! This September (2026), we are running 9 adventure trips for incoming SCU first years!!! Click on the trips listed below to learn more!!
What is an Adventure Trip?
Adventure trips are a great way for first years to meet their classmates and explore all that California has to offer before fall quarter starts! The trips will be groups of 12 incoming first-years, led by three Into The Wild student leaders. All leaders are experienced and Wilderness First Responder certified. ITW will take care of the food, group gear, permits, and transportation. Backpacks, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads are available to rent through the club. If you have your own gear, feel free to bring it! Skill levels of the trips will range from beginner (no prior experience necessary) to advanced (prior experience highly recommended) camping/backpacking trips. Check out the instagram post below to see the trips!
Logistics:
Students on trips will be granted an early move in date on September 14th. There will be a mandatory pre-trip meeting for all trips on the afternoon of the 14th where students will meet their groups and rent gear. Trips will depart on the morning of September 15th and return on the afternoon of the 17th.
Sign ups will be half first come first serve and half lottery and will open early July 6th, 2026 at 12pm PST.
Look out for more information on Santa Clara University’s website in June. These trips are highly competitive, so you’ll want to sign up right when the tickets go live!
Finances:
Thanks to generous grants in the past, adventure trips are free to all incoming students.
