Week 8: Advanced Glacier Point XC Ski
Yay!!! Glacier point backpacking. We are so excited! We will be having a pre-trip meeting Thursday at 7 PM in the into the wild Office in the basement of Benson. Here you will be able to rent gear from us for a deposit of $60. We will be meeting at the bronco statue at 4:30 AM on sat where we will get into our cars and then drive to Yosemite. We will then get our skis and begin our 10 miles to our campsite. We will enjoy a cozy night with beautiful views of half dome, then wake up early Sunday and ski back to our cars and head back to campus to arrive around 7 PM. Well, it’s your lucky day because we’re offering you a once-in-a-lifetime experience to touch rocks and drink kombucha with the four and only Wigged out Willy, Can’t-Climb-without-Arteryx Addie, Alpinest Aaron, and Free Solo Sander.
We will be rippin a climbing trip in the greater Cal Poly area, coupled with some fantastic beach camping. With a 6:30 am departure, we plan to reach Bishop Peak before 10 am, climb to our heart's content, and send all weekend. The only requirement is climbing shoes and a high stoke level.

Week 8: Mystery Trip
Whats up slayers!! Are you interested in soaking your muscles in a natural hot spring, well Sykes Hot Springs' got what you're looking for! Join Red-hot Roman, and Campfire Cooper on a once in a lifetime backpacking experience! We're going to be waking up bright and early at 6:00 am leaving SCU and heading down to Big Sur to begin our 20 mile, 5000 ft elevation hike to the hot springs. Plan on playing some fun games in the wilderness, stargazing, and meeting some new friends! This will definitely be a hard trip so be sure to have prior backpacking experience. Week 6: Intermediate Channel Islands Camping
YAAAAAARRG!! Feeling islandish? Are you looking to sail the high seas on the Jolly Roger (Island Packers ferry) in search of buried treasure (the Channel Islands)? Join Sailingtheoceanseas Orion and Questfortreasure Quintin on a long weekend INTERMEDIATE Camping trip! We’ll be hitting the road on Friday and camping in Morro Bay before setting sail (taking a ferry) Saturday morning. Once ashore, we will ransack Santa Cruz Island, the largest island of the Channel Islands. The legends of the “Galapagos of North America” have foretold of beautiful islands, hundreds of unique plant and animal species, and stunning coastline everywhere you gaze. We’ll be embarking on a quest including beach time, epic sunsets, hiking, and good grub. On Sunday we will be hiking the plank to Smuggler’s Cove (that’s actually what it’s called), a 7-8 mile hike with low elevation, as well as some other shorter jaunts around the island. This trip requires INTERMEDIATE pirate proficiency due to the length of the trip and hikes. Once our cutthroat crew conquers the curse of the Channel Islands, we will get back to the schooner Monday morning and set sail with our spoils and stories of swashbuckling with scallywags. We will have you back at campus with the landlubbers on Monday night. Grab your peg legs, eye patches, and hooks and get ready to plunder! This trip has never been run before, but thankfully due to emerging technological advancements, we will be able to hike the entirety of the Lost Coast trail in one particularly long weekend. Join Waxed Willy, Baddie Bella, Hot Hallie, and Cute Cam for the trip of a lifetime, drumroll… INTERMEDIATE LOST COAST BACKPACKING. We will be heading out on Saturday morning at dawn (literally we're leaving at 5:00 am sharp). After a quick 6-hour drive to our trailhead, we will get started on the next 25 miles of our lives. We're looking at a breezy 8-12 miles a day on beachy terrain (roughly flat) and staring at the beautiful Pacific Ocean. We will be back at campus by 7 pm on Monday night and say our forever goodbyes. Week 5: Intermediate Last Chance Falls
Greetings wild ones! Do you want to take on the Big Sur Wilderness with Tantalizing Tor and Charming Charlie? Join us on an epic advanced overnight to Last Chance Falls and be back in time for the Super Bowl!! We will be leaving at 7am on Saturday from the Bronco statue, driving two hours to our campsite, dropping our stuff, and jolting up 7.5 miles and 3,700 feet of elevation to Last Chance Falls. We will then descend 7.5 miles back down to camp and munch down a tasty dinner before hitting our tents for an early slumber. On Sunday morning, we will rise bright and early and aim to be back on campus by 11am for Super Bowl festivities! Tickets will be $53. Week 5: Beginner Firefalls Camping
Howdy Wildings!!! Looking for a once in a lifetime trip to see a natural phenomenon!!! This is your chance! Join Jinger Julia, Ginger Grace, and Karrot-top Kenzie on Week 5. We’ll be departing campus at 6:30am on February 7th and heading towards Yosemite for the spectacular firefalls. We will be setting up camp and embarking on a lovely hike exploring the Yosemite Valley, ultimately ending up at El Cap to see the gorgeous firefalls. This is a 10 mile round trip hike but has very little elevation and will be broken up with lots of breaks!! We’ll have a spectacular dinner that night underneath the insane Yosemite stars. We will wake up Sunday morning and start our day with another spectacular hike before heading back to campus and arrive by 4pm. Tickets will be 45$ and this is a beginner trip with no previous experience needed!! You don’t want to miss out on this awesome opportunity!!!
Week 4: Advanced Cone Peak Sea to Sky
SATURDAY — SUNDAY Whassup wildings!!?? If you can’t decide between splashin around the beautiful Pacific ocean or conquering a 5000 ft mountain, why not do BOTH!!! Join Hazardous Hailey and Dangerous Daniel on this Sea-to-Summit expedition. This advanced backpacking trip will depart at 6am and zoom down to Big Sur. We will dip our toes in the ocean before heading up 12mi and 5,000 ft to the glorious Cone Peak. We will then rest our weary souls and gaze into the stars. We'll wake up for a magnificent sunrise over the coastal range before BOOKIN it back down to be back at campus by 5pm. If you are looking to experience the best of California’s outdoor offerings and test your limits, this is the trip for you!! Tickets are $41.

Week 4: Intermediate Sunol/Flag Hill Backpacking
GREETINGS MOUNTAIN GOATS...or cows! Have you been waiting to let your freak flag fly? Are you looking to spend your weekend frolicking in green hills and appreciating gorgalicious views in the Sunol wilderness?!! Join Anemographic Alessia and Epochal Erin as we explore Flag Hill in "Little Yosemite" .This intermediate backpacking trip includes a 10 mile loop with 2500 feet of elevation. We will leave on Saturday 1/31 at a comfortable time of 9 am, drive to the trailhead, and embark on our journey! After we freak our way to our campsite, we will cook up a yummy meal and play some campfire games. We will wake up Sunday morning, hike our way down and return from our travels by 3 pm the following day, just in time for peak illumination of the full Snow Moon. Tickets will be AMTT. Come along for the adventure and leave all red flags behind!

Week 2: Advanced Double Ventana Cone Expedition
Saturday — Sunday: Whasssup, wilderness explorers!! Do you love type 2 fun and are looking for something fun to do with your long weekend? Have you been itching to get outside and test yourself in the mountains? This will be an advanced and challenging hike. Join Shredding Sander, Lionheart Leanna, and Loosecannon Lucian on an EPIC challenge-rated trip: WEEK 2 we will be sending the Big Sur Double Ventana Cone Backpacking trip. This is the chance of a lifetime to explore the backcountry of Big Sur and see the jewel of the northern Ventana Wilderness. We will leave at 5:30 AM on Saturday 1/17, drive 2 hours to our trailhead, hiking over 30 miles and 9,000 feet of elevation. We’ll get back to SCU around 6:30 PM on Monday. This hike is an extremely challenging bushwack and not for the faint of heart, so backpacking experience is required. Fill out this application if you are interested!

Week 2: Beginner Death Valley Camping
SATURDAY — SUNDAY: HEYY BRONCOS!! Itching to trade campus for wide-open desert and starry skies this holiday weekend?! Leave the usual behind for fiery sunsets, sand dune shenanigans, and hiking adventures as you join Sunset Sean, Moonrock McCoy, and Eclipse Ellie for a BEGINNER car camping trip to the epic desert playground of Death Valley. We’ll hit the road bright and early on Saturday at 4:30 AM and make the ~8-hour drive to our campground, then spend the afternoon exploring the sandy Mesquite Dunes before stargazing under some of the darkest skies around. On Sunday, we will tackle around 5 miles on the Wildrose Peak hike, capturing some sweeping desert views and hopefully making some new friends along the way. Who knows, we may even catch an unreal sunset at Dante’s View! We will cruise back to campus around 5pm on Monday and stop for some delicious grub on the way. Tickets will be $88.
Week 1: Intermediate Portola Redwoods Backpacking
HAPPY NEW YEAR WILDINGS!! Ready to swing into the new year on the right pogo stick? Jk. No pogo sticks. BUT do you have a new years resolution to exercise more and spend more time outside? Well my oh my do we have the proposition for you. Join Ludicrous Liz, Eager Evelyn, and Magnanimous Maddie on our expedition to the Portola Redwoods located in the nearby Santa Cruz Mountains. This intermediate backpacking trip will commence at 8am on Saturday January 10th, when we will jet off in our spiffy vans down the road for about an hour. Once at the trailhead we will meander through towering old growth redwoods for 3 miles to get to our campsite. From there, a 6 mile hike shall be conquered, games shall be played, laughter shall be shared, and food shall be devoured. We will end the night star gazing until we feel like little specks of dust in this vast vast universe. When yee golden sunlight awakens us come Sunday morning, we shall cook up and head out, getting back to campus around 2pm. Kick your winter quarter off right and sign up online at 8pm on Tuesday! Week 1: Beginner Sonoma Coast Camping
GOOOOOD DAY, ADVENTURERS!! We bring you happy tidings of a glorious excursion to Wright’s Beach on the Sonoma Coast. Join Roamin’ Ryan, Herald Harry, and Pungent Paco for a weekend of beach activities! We shall depart on Saturday at 8:00 am and drive a brisk 2 hours to our campsite right smack on the beach. We’ll embark on a pristine 5-mile hike along the coast, but not before we rip some Q‘dillas and absorb the scenery. We’ll be back in time for copious beach activities, and top it off with some dawgs and smores by the fire before turning in for the night. We’ll awake promptly for a quick dip in the coast to animate the senses and enjoy some French toast before making our final stop at some sick sand dunes. Expect to be back on campus before 4:00 pm on Sunday. This is a Beginner trip, so no camping experience is necessary. Tickets will be $40. Hope to see ya’ll there!!!

Escape into the redwood-shadowed wilds of Portola’s Redwoods trail system, a serene route perfect for adventurers craving solitude and old-growth forest magic. This loop weaves through creek crossings, fern-draped slopes, and ancient trees that seem to whisper stories. We will be leading a beginner car camping trip in Tomales Bay, polar plunging in the mornings, hiking throughout the day, and kayaking in the bay at night to see the beautiful bioluminescence. WEEK 4: Beginner Twin and Island Lakes Backpacking

Are you ready to embark on a mega chiller backpacking trip with Gusty Grace, Industrious Izzy, Leisurely Leanna?? Could be your first overnight ever, or your 100th, all our welcome on our Twin and Island Lakes Beginner Backpacking trip in Desolation Wilderness. We’re departing campus at 7:30am on Saturday Oct 18th, cruising 4 hours north, and hitting the trail. We’ll enjoy a late afternoon of swimming and a tasty meal before hitting the hay. Sunday we will rise with the sun to hike out (maybe even take another chilly plunge in an alpine lake), and head home!
If you’re looking for a mellow 6 miles round trip (~3 miles each day) along the gorgeous lakes of Desolation Wilderness then you won’t want to miss this trip!

WEEK 3: Intermediate Picture Peak Midnight Lakes Backpacking
ARE YOU A HUNGER PACKER?? Join Baboon Maddie and Donkey Julia for stargazing, sleeping with the fishes, and scrumptious suppers on our grand lakes tour in the incredible Inyo Forest of the Eastern Sierras! We’ll be setting our alarms for a crisp 5:30 wake-up on Saturday, October 11th, driving just north of Mount Whitney to see at least 6 sexy lakes. We’ll be backpacking around 14 miles and just over 2000 ft of elevation across all three days. We’ll zip back to campus around 5 pm on Monday, the 13th to give y'all some time to cram in some last-minute homework. Due to the high elevation, the trip will be an advanced application-based trip. This is a less-populated area of the sierras and has some of the best views of Northern California. This is one of the last chances to get into the mountains before the snow, so we’re super stoked! This is a one van trip and spots are limited, so apply asap!! Tickets are $85, which includes all food and transportation costs. Meet you at midnight!

WEEK 3: Intermediate Fern Canyon Redwoods Car Camping
WHAT IS UP WILDLINGS??? Got any plans for your first long weekend at Santa Clara? Want to see where Jurassic Park was filmed? Want to see epic prehistoric ferns, the Pacific Ocean, waterfalls, and front row seats to elk rut season? Join Rut Season Sean, Ornery Elk Orion, and Antler-locked Erin on an epic trip up to Redwoods National Park! We’ll be leaving at 8 AM on Saturday and driving up along the coast to our campsite, where we’ll hang around at camp and check out the beaches and coastline to swim, play some games, and relax on the beach. Afterwards, we’ll cook up the first of our delicious meals and freshly made warm desserts. Our campsite is known for lots of elk, so we’ll hopefully see a lot and hear them bugling! The next day, we’ll check out the epic Fern Canyon (where Jurassic Park was filmed!) and Trillium falls. Both hikes are less than three miles, so this trip is for all skill levels! We’ll have another delicious round of dinner and desserts and wake up on Monday for a polar plunge before heading on home, arriving back on campus before 4 PM. Tickets will be 80$ and sold at tabling starting this Tuesday at 10! Hope to see you there!

WEEK 3: Advanced High Sierra Challenge
Ultra sendy and super gnarly off-trail backpacking in Eastern Sierra. We’ll be hiking past 7 lakes and scrambling multiple passes to reach the mysterious and rarely seen Bear Lakes Basin. We’ll be doing a total of 7k elevation gain over 21 miles.
WEEK 3: FRIDAY PADDLE BOARD
SUNSET PADDLEBOARDING IS SOOOO BACK BABY! Did you miss last week's paddle boarding trip…. Are you itching to get on the water??!! Join mermaids Bioluminescent Bella and Hydrosphere Hailey as we venture into Lexington Reservoir! We’ll be leaving THIS FRI-YAY, the 10th, from the Bronco Statue at 5pm and will be back on campus by 8pm! Hot chocolate and sweet treats will be provided post paddle!

WEEK 8 (5/24-5/26): Hey everyone! we’ll be leading a trip on memorial day all the way up to oregon, where we’ll be checking out 80-foot waterfalls and natural hot springs 10 minutes from our first campsite. the next day, we’ll be going on a full-day rafting trip on the north umpqua river, then driving to crater lake and cooking up some dinner. the next day, we’ll be driving back. hope to see you there!
WEEK 8 TRIP: Advanced Emerald Lake Backpacking
WEEK 8 (5/24-5/26): Trinity Alps backpacking is going to be a three night four day extravaganza into the Mountains. We will be leaving Friday after classes and returning early Sunday afternoon. One night of camping and two nights of backpacking, lots of lakes, great food and good times ahead.
